So now as I wait to be taken over
poem • • 1 min
So now as I wait to be taken over,
The ground beneath me shakes,
Rattles like it'll give away,
The sky above me swirls while the colours fade.
The wind hurls and with it, the clouds move in.
The rustling leaves, dead, long before me.
Sudden darkness takes the stage and the rain.
Oh, the mighty rain pours its heart out.
As my knees buckle and I fall to the ground for the last time,
Enfolded in this strange silence, I lay there as the world continues.
For moments that seem, almost an eternity
Breathless, hopeless and almost lifeless.
